Well I’ll Be Damned… Wendy Wins??

I can’t believe it.  After all this time, it’s actually finally happened.  You have no idea how much I hate like hell to say this, but I really do have no choice.

The gun grabbers were right!

You have no idea how disgusted I am with myself right now.

Every time some jurisdiction down in the US loosened its gun control laws, organizations like the Brady Campaign fought those reforms tooth and nail.  And I ridiculed them.

They warned us over and over and over again that ONLY SOLDIERS AND COPS CAN BE TRUSTED WITH GUNS and putting guns in the hands of the average citizen would lead to mayhem — violence in the streets, shootings over the most insignificant perceived slight, gunfights over fender benders.

Yes, they warned us.  They did everything they could.  And we …  I … didn’t listen.  Now it’s happened.  Many of you have doubtless heard of the historic “Heller decision” of the US Supreme Court that struck down the District of Columbia’s wise and well-thought-out gun ban that had stood for more than 30 years, making sure DC stayed as safe as it was.  I remember it quite well.  I, fool that I was, rejoiced at it.

Guns in DC are no longer the exclusive province of the police and the military, and the good people at the Brady Campaign and other such pro-gun control orgs have been proven right.  If you haven’t already heard, sit down.  Here’s what happened:

Two days ago, during what’s being described as an historic snowstorm, a group of young people at the intersection of 14th and U Streets NW in DC did what lots of young people (and not-so-young, too; including myself, which doubtless adds to my horror at this story) have a tendency to do during bigass snowstorms: they were having a little fun whipping snowballs at each other.  That’s when things went very pear-shaped.

Some damn clown, whose precious Hummer had been hit with one of the big, bad snowballs, got out… and PULLED A GUN.  I wish I was making this up.  I wish the gun grabbers weren’t right, but…

Hey, waitaminit…  THE ASSHOLE WITH THE GUN’S A FRIGGIN’ COP???????

A senior police official in Washington DC has said an off-duty officer who drew a gun at a snowball fight behaved in a “totally inappropriate” way.

Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier said video footage left “no doubt” the office drew his gun after his vehicle, a hummer, was pelted with snowballs.

Okay.  Fine.  That’s just F#$*%&G jolly.  “Only soldiers and cops should have guns.”

Magnificent idea, morons.  And did anyone else notice the preferential treatment Butthead Baylor got when the other cops showed up?  Any other biped would have been taken down by the tactical team.

But hey, at least cops are so much more trustworthy with guns than all those idiot commoners, right?  So that makes it okay.

He was later filmed admitting the over-zealous action, saying: “I did it
because I got hit with snowballs.”
