My Links

This is just a collection of links to places that I think are worth checking out. They reflect my interests, concerns and, sometimes, my sense of humour… Feel free to check them out.

The Conservative Party of CanadaThe Conservative Party of Canada. Well, gee whiz, this one was a total no-brainer, wasn’t it?? Yes, it was.

Seriously now, if you somehow didn’t have me pegged for a Tory by the time that you managed to wander yourself as far as this page… well, I really don’t know what the hell to say about you except, perhaps, “go back to whatever school you graduated from, find the principal and demand that he/she apologise for sending you out into the world so unprepared.” That’s about all I can come up with on that…

DCRAThe Dominion of Canada Rifle Associationpromotes military and civilian marksmanship, the sport of shooting and the safe handling of firearms,” in the words of their website. Not a bad thing to be doing, eh?

“The Dominion of Canada Rifle Association was founded in 1868 and incorporated by an Act of Parliament 63-64 Victoria Chapter 99, assented to July 7, 1890, to promote and encourage the training of marksmanship throughout Canada. The passage of this Act was prompted by the imminent departure of the British Garrisons, who had all left by 1871, and by the then recent experience of the Fenian Raids which had occurred in 1866 against Canadian territory.”

I definitely recommend the DCRA for anyone interested in marksmanship or in teaching their kids the proper, SAFE use of firearms. Listing everything that they have to offer here would just tak too much space, so go check them out for yourselves.

OFAHThe Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters isn’t just about hunting and fishing; they’re Canada’s leading conservation organization. You’ll find them tackling issues ranging from pollution, to irresponsible logging practice, to safety, to gun owners’ rights.

I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again: if you want to know how to best help our great outdoors, ask the people who spend the most time enjoying them; they’ll tell you.

Did I mention that membership has its benefits? 😉 Check some of ’em out here. Trust me: it’s totally worth the 45 bucks a year (or $900, if you can blow that much, for a lifetime membership).
