Trooper Wilson was a gunner inside a Nyala RG-31 on patrol when the vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb. He died of his injuries shortly thereafter.

Trooper Wilson was the 40th Canadian soldier Killed in Afghanistan and the first ever London, Ontario native soldier to be buried in his home town. All of London’s previous war dead, in more than a century and a half of service history, had been buried overseas in theatre. His funeral Mass was held at Mary Immaculate Church, in London, on October 16, 2006. He left behind a widow and two sons, aged 11 and 17.

Trooper Wilson’t length of service in not known at this time.
